This video is such utter bullshit. I am a dane myself, and I've lived 10 years in Copenhagen. First of all, all this talk about sustainablility and green solutions; it's all greenwashing, Denmark's green climate policy has been all image and no bite the last 10 years, and the current government is actively trying to make it worse. Second, most of all these new housing developments are expensive as hell, driving prices up further with talk of "hip, new urban" neighborhoods with great facilities, when in reality these areas have little life in them, nor any sort of aesthetic value. Most of the investors in these areas are the Metro company and big pension funds btw, neither of which are concerned with affordability and common good, or even sustainability apart from the most surface level of pretenses. All they care about is profit. We've recently have multiple scandals in Denmark with poorly built hospitals, highrise buildings and housing, which have problems with water leaks, concrete quality and poorly fitted amenities, now these places are either destined for a total rebuild, the wracking ball or, if they are lucky; substandard housing with inflated prices; again red flags for a big scam. Finally, BIG (Bjarne Ingels Group) represented in this video are the designers of multiple dystopian concrete eyesores both here in Denmark and abroad, and seeing them having the influence they have is concerning. The mental gymnastics some modern architechs take to deride old-style human-scale brick and timber housing in order to make their own inhuman monstrosities stand out... All in all, don't believe this video.
